Tango City hostel, set in the heart of the buzzing San Telmo district of Buenos Aires is a decent place to stay in a great location. Friendly staff, plenty of ‘offers’ when it comes to tours and comfortable rooms should make it a fantastic hostel – but it lacks a certain something. The downstairs bar could be very cool, but a lack of bar staff, pool table with missing balls and tendency to play stupidly loud old rock music all work against it. It also looses points for it’s cynical blocking of hostel booking websites on the 3 PC’s (a nasty trait that spreads across most of the HI Hostels chain as far as I can tell). A good option if you want to stay in San Telmo (and why wouldn’t you), but there are almost certainly better places to stay in this area full of hostels.
